I think they just stopped caring about their invidiual users and Writer's Block was something that we enjoyed in our own blogs. Here's what they are planning to do:

They've made it abundantly clear that they don't care about the every day user. They've actually said as much. I don't see how those changes will really affect the every day user, though.
